I had a chance to watch Cellular another day and my first thought was that here we go with another spin-off of Phone Booth, another movie with someone forced to keep on the phone for 90 some minutes while we cringe in our seat. However, to me, this was actually a very interesting movie. I am am not really sure what genre to classify this movie because it has
lititzdailynews it all. Suspense, drama, action, comic aid; this movie has all.
Jessica is a high school mathematics teacher, (that happens to use fishnet stockings!!) Who has her house broken into and mysteriously taken away to an unknown location by the”bad men” and put in a loft. They smash the phone hanging on the walls and proceed to lock Jessica from the attic. Jessica subsequently”drains” the broken phone (remember – she is a science teacher) and is able to randomly dial a phone number.
Jessica finds a telephone number and lo and behold, it’s Ryan’s cell phone.
Jessica cries for somebody that she doesn’t understand in a desperate request for support. Ryan originally gets the typical response that anybody would have when getting a call like this, but extends beyond the call of duty in an effort to conserve a woman that he does not even know.
I am not likely to be the spoiler and that is all I am going to tell you, but that is a good sleeper movie. Can it be a bit far fetched? Yes, but so what. Forget about your problems and sit down and observe Mobile, I promise you will never be disappointed!
